Default Yurt Kyrgyzstan Decorations

I haven’t figured out all my solar needs yet and know I’m jumping way ahead of the important stuff. However, this is where my brain is obsessing over today. I am in love with the interior yurt decorations of a Kyrgyzstan yurt. The beautiful felts. The banners. The intricate yurt bands (not necessarily the ones that look like ribbons/trim.) I have found rugs…but no yurt bands with the traditional patterns.

Where can I buy these? I have looked on Etsy and have tried to google ..but can’t find the intricate bands that go around the yurt (usually where the roof and walls meet).

My search of yurt bands only produced simple bands that one could use to stabilize the structure. Im going to try to attach a photo…https://venturatours-kg.com/the-great-buddha-daibustu/

I’ve contacted various sellers but the ones I found only sell the decorative elements with the purchase of their yurt. Dead end.

I did find a person on eBay in Germany, but he didn’t have the colors I liked. Not into the red/green Christmas combo.

Here is an interesting video where he is explaining a lot about the setup and you can see some decoration too:

Off topic.

I free hand painted an intricate 'traveling' Mongolian design on the rails and stiles of the five panel front door I made for my yurt. I used Testors model enamels. It came out >incredibly good<. Took me one full day. It was a very intricate design, all free hand painted with artists brush. Unfortunately I took no photos of it. That door was beautiful.

Knowing zip about Mongolian yurt artwork I simply looked up Mongolian door photos on google images, found one I liked, and printed it, and eyeballed it as a reference while painting. It was NOT easy getting the line crossovers at the ells where the rails and stiles met.

For a fact if you find something for sale, it will be underpriced considering the substantial hand painting involved. That's all I got. Good luck.

I’m not as bold (or talented) to even attempt to freehand any design. Stick figures? Maybe.

I had not looked at groovy yurts! They have some items that are perfect! Thanks.

We are now in the warm category! Keep those suggestions coming!

I appreciate everyone’s help!

[QUOTE=TSRalex;13063]Try to contact the owner of "Zamirbekov Ethno Yurts,

TSRalex, I just had time to watch the video. Absolutely no clue what was said but exactly what I have in mind for the internal decorations/bands.

I’m going to see what Google can do to help me figure out how to use the link.

Thanks so much!!! This is fantastic!!

I laughed when I saw the above-ground pool in the background. Way too cold to use that !!! Well, for this Texan, anything below 70 requires a sweater/extra layers.

My Russian knowledge is also too weak for understanding more than some words, but if you watch the video directly on Youtube, you can choose to show subtitles and you can translate the Russian subtitles with selecting EN in the settings.....

In Kyrgyzstan (as well as in Siberia or Kazakhstan) they have an continental climate and that means hot summers up to above 40° C (104 ° F)....
