Putting the Yurt to the Test

Well, it looks like we have some pretty windy and wet weather coming in today.. My local forecast is as follows:

A very strong low pressure area will impact the region today. Accompanying the low is a strong cold front that will move through during the afternoon. This front will produce widespread showers and thunderstorms as it moves through the region. There is a high likelihood for severe storms developing through the afternoon. It appears the highest threat for severe weather will arrive between 2pm-8pm. A squall line associated with front will race through CNY impacting the immediate CNY area between 3pm-6pm. The main mode of severe weather during the afternoon looks like damaging straight line wind with wind speeds in excess of 70mph embedded in stronger thunderstorms. There is a lot of wind energy in the atmosphere, so there is a chance that a brief, isolated tornado could form. Expect torrential downpours as this line moves through during the mid-to-late afternoon.

engineering to the test today lol.. I am getting all my outdoor stuff done now and hopefully all will be good. At least the sun is out and charging the panels for now! The yurt camp is in a little hollow, so is pretty protected against wind, but 70MPH is 70MPH after all..
