Default Four months of yurt living

Hello! I am so glad to see that this forum is out there. When we started looking into yurts the resources were few and far between, and that wasn't very long ago. I actually found this forum by accident, googling around for things like "tree falling on yurt" before we went through a blizzard in ours this past weekend...

In case it is helpful for anyone else on a yurt quest, here is our adventure with ours to date: Circle In

Now off to see what everyone says about sticking yurt doors and such!

Welcome aboard! Glad to see you made it through the blizzard. We didn't have it all that bad here, just a bit of snow. It did get pretty cold though, at one point it was almost -20!

WELCOME TO THE FORUM I SURE ENJOY READING YOUR BLOG AND SEE A LOT OF GOOD IDEAS. We get water from a neighbor and keep in the kitchen in a 30 gal barrel on a rack with a boiler drain in it. Works great.Done most of the work myself all the wiring and such. All my neighbors got together and built our house while we stayed in the yurt.while they were building ours i was installing Plumbing in my neighbors place. Funny thing i have been a plumber all my life and still have not put the first piece of pipe in the house.
