Jafo, that's a good idea about putting the new rope in before removing the old. The old rope around the top seems fine. The only reason I even considered replacing it was the rope that pulled open...

Roofs: cinching rope and wasps.
My yurt is about 5 years old. Last week the rope that raises and lowers the "wall window" broke. It would be an easy fix if not for the wasps living under the roof. Two questions. Any thoughts...
