Default Re: Slabs and radiant heat

I can help you through some of the calcs if you decide to go radiant. But if so I'll need to know things like:
- what power sources are available to you and what do you prefer to use?
- are you trying to do electric or circulated hot fluid?
- how cold will it get outside and how warm do you want to be inside?
- is your yurt going to be insulated? with what?

Regardless if you're doing a slab, you'll want to insulate under the slab really well. If your 30' yurt has 7'-ish walls and an eco-foil like

insulation

, you'll want at least R22 worth of foam board below your slab to keep heat loss to the ground to less than 5%
