Default yurts and adoption

Just wondering if anyone here who lives in a yurt full time has ever adopted a child or does foster care? My wife and I would love to foster or adopt some day but we also want to live in a yurt, just was wondering if anyone had any experience with that. I could see them not wanting to send a kid to live in a yurt. but who knows

I can imagine a yurt throwing a red flag up. Probably prudent to do the yurt after the adoption.

My wife and I are wondering the same thing! We have asked our social worker if one would pass a home study. She said she would look into it but we haven't heard anything yet.

If the yurt in question has been permitted by the county, make sure the social worker is aware of that and provide them with the signed off permits. That should help.

Thanks for the tip, Jafo. We haven't built a yurt yet. We still have some things to find out, foster care approval being the biggest one. Unfortunately, if foster and adopting are a no go, we will have to forego the

yurt plans

for now.
Glad to know, Philm, that my wife and I aren't the only ones with these same dreams and desires.
