A nomadic trad yurt with zero amenities has about zero appeal to Americans. Mongolians - likely the fatherland of the trad yurt- are used to hardships we here in the States really aren't interested...

Well yurts are fantastic dwellings. However as good as they are, if I was weighing costs as far as a permanent home goes, I would certainly go with a cabin, even though it is more money. I hate to...

Much as I love yurts, I'd go with the cabin. WAAY more solid and way more tradesmen think square rather than round. Just my opinion.

Mold IS a huge issue. If the yurt really gets moldy, I assure you you'll be out of there in short order. Good luck with your plan.
