The reason you try and keep the loops a foot apart is so you don't have cold spots in your floor. Wee winder is just a handle with a hook sticking out that swivels. you hook the hook into the holes...

Having installed lots of hydronic heat in slabs i would say you are on the right track. keep you heat lines at least 1 foot back off the edge.try and keep them at least 1 foot apart. keep your loops...
