Default Nice Yurt!!

Ok, that is pretty wild! I love the floor! What is that, just natural stone mortared together?

Thank You! & Yes, those are natural stones from the forest floor surrounding the yurt. It is a special mortar mix. The mix recipe comes from Rob Roy's book - Cordwood Masonry. I've found this to be the most durable mortar mix after learning from experience and watching my hearth's chip apart I've found his recipe to be excellent to work with and very durable!

Very cool, great space and furnishings. I have made a couple ten footers and thought of using one for display as ten foot is the standard for most shows and event spaces.

Default My first experience at a logging show.

We just built this ten foot display yurt this spring in hopes of taking it to some trade or craft shows. Luckily, got to go to the Woodsmen's field days in August and it was a great experience. A really fun weekend and we sold a yurt out of the deal! I thought they had a fair price on the 10 foot vendor space. Based on my experience in Boonville (Thanks Phyllis!), I would highly reccomend taking a ten foot display yurt around to shows. I'll try to get out to some more festivals & craft shows, after winter.

By the way, great job with this forum Jafo. I am impressed with what you are putting together here. Good on you.

- Cheers

Steve
