Default Bottom of floor?

Hello folks,

Getting ready to build the floor now. I'm a bit concerned with most plans having an open or exposed bottom to the floor, i.e nothing under the the circle of joists. Most plans call for joists, 2X4s for floor joists, 2" foam

insulation

, then floor.

Has anyone put anything on the bottom? I was thinking 1/4" PT ply circle to make a sandwich, but not liking the extra expense this is going to run. 6mm poly wrap maybe?

Also, when attaching the 2X4s do most people just toenail them or use Simpson brackets?

I would go the extra for the sandwich. For one you will want the

insulation

. Also it will keep critters from nibbling on your insulation.
