Hi all!
First post here! What at amazing community it seems. Anyway, I will be needing some help/advice as I kickoff this project. Here we go.
2 years ago I rescued a 30' Rainer with SIPS panels for FREE! I wasn't able to construct it so it has been sitting on pallets and tarped. Not ideal I know but I had to do it. So now the construction begins! This will be located on my organic farm with hopes to live in it someday, when the city cooperates, but will mostly be used for meeting space, farm dinners, classes, ect.
This yurt was used to show a $30millon property in Jackson Hole, WY and partially collapsed due to snow and not being maintained. I know it needs some new pieces but I think it is well worth it to fix. I am guessing it will costs around $12-15k to construct, with the platform included.
The Good:
-SIPS
-Rafters
-Lattice (need one section replaced)
-Glass French doors, 2 glass windows, backdoor
-Wall and roof
The Bad:
-SIPS have some water and mouse damage. I hope to be able to cut out the rotting OSB and replace
-Door and window frames are coming apart but I think a friend can help fix with some wood glue and screws.
-Need new wall and roof canvas
-Need new

I am including some pictures, the first is the original pile I rescued along with the yurt when it was up. Then the damage it occurred and finally some of the pieces that need repair after storing. Hoping to continue on this thread as the build progresses. I will have a lot of questions. Thanks all! (Sorry I made a duplicate post on the yurt repair thread but figured this would be a better fit)
