Default Cleaning a yurt roof

It won't be long and Spring will be here! It can't come too soon if you ask me. We have had one Hell of a winter this year!

I noticed that the roof of my yurt is a bit grimy this year so I plan on cleaning it. From what I have read, cleaning the vinyl roofs is basically done with a pool cleaning brush and hot water with a mild soap. My manufacturer recommends Ivory soap.

I have never done this before so I figured I would start a thread to hear your advice/stories.

Whatever you do - DON'T USE A PRESSURE WASHER. This may seem obvious, but you might be surprised. j

With the new enviro regs on building, it wouldn't surprise me if 'silt fence' was required to be installed around the yurt perimeter prior to any wash down. lol

You can't build a house now without silt fence containment if there's ANY chance of runoff. No joke. It's gotten that absurd. Be assured your neighbor is likely to bust you as not. Unfortunately that's how it is now. I can't mow my property. Why? Prebles mouse is present here. I kid you not.

I ended up using a scrub brush attached to a mop handle on a rainy day. Worked perfect. The roof itself didn't need any cleaning, it was just where the roof transitions to the walls that were really dirty. We did it all in less than 1 hour.
