Default Yurt camping in Big Sur and the High Sierras

I just returned from a ten day camp out in big sur. I set up four yurts this year (2 last year and three the year before). I take a row boat out in the kelp beds at Mill Creek then we feast on fresh fish. We had over 20 campers at our yurt camp this time.

Went yurt camping in Yosemite during February and May. Set up three yurts complete with wood burning stoves. It was cold enough that the river was freezing overnight. I wouldn't have gone back again without the heat inside the yurts. It was cold. We burned one cord of firewood in three days!

I am planing another yurt camping trip during the early part of October in the High Sierra's. Anyone interested let me know. there will be plenty of room. Depending how many people are interested I will take as many yurts as needed.

I will be yurt camping in Big Sur again 11/13 through 11/16 and maybe longer if more sawmill work comes up during my stay. I am milling bridge timbers at Pfeiffer State Park.

Look at all that sawdust! Dunno if you do this, but we use sawdust in the outhouse instead of lime. Works just as good, and helps biodegrade the stuff quicker.

I use it in the chicken coup as I do not have a composter.

I am in the planing stages for a yurt camping trip in the Sierras for early spring. Might be in the snow if timing is right. Anyone who is interested contact me for details.
