Default hardwood floors and time crunch

Looking for some ideas on hardwood floor install. I have the material (ash) and yurt waiting to be installed. 1st the hardwood, I know, but should I sand and seal before raising g the yurt or can I do that after I raise it. My window I'd opportunity is until Sunday. Spotty rain is expected throughout the week. Any ideas will help

I wish I sealed mine before I put up the yurt, because that process stained the wood. In order for me to fix that, I would have to sand the entire deck. If you absolutely cannot seal it, lay thick paper over it and tape it down.

I think weather is a big consideration. IF the yurt is ready to go, and on site, and you expect the yurt will take no longer than say a day or two to get erected and covered, and you expect the weather to cooperate, you should get the flooring installed and sanded, stained if necessary and at least one coat of finish applied. Preferably two, or three for a bomb proof finish.

Trying to do this when the yurt is erected is gonna be a whole lot more work, you'll be edging the perimeter and there is no base to cover where you edged. Plus you won't be able to just slop out the finish and be concerned with splatter etc.

With the deck free and clear, installation will be VERY FAST to accomplish. You can knock out the whole job with zero issues at the wall line. Just haul @$$ and get it done. Strip flooring just doesn't get any easier than that. Good luck.

Plus, let all the boards run wild. Trim with a skillsaw. THEN add the perimeter banding. PIECE-OF-CAKE!! lol
