Default Building a Yurt

I'm just getting started on building a yurt. It will be a 12 footer.

I did post some pics under "nightcap" but I must have answered the random question wrong while signing up and it got locked out for posting comments or even replies. I'll get some more pics as I continue the crown. I am experimenting on a new way to do it and if it isn't a huge disaster I'll post a pic or two.

Thanks for the nice welcome!

The jig turned out to be GREAT! I know, it sounds like i'm bragging, but it really made short work out of notching the crown. I got it all glues up and sanded. Now I guess i will do some wood putty and paint. I'm thinking red. I think a red door and crown. The rafters fit nice and snug. Now I just need to cut out all the bazillion slats for the walls.

I have enough slats cut out to build one of the wall sections. So I will post some pics as it goes together. I try and cut up a 2x6 a day.

Hey Kevin if you are going to bolt it together. I get my bolts from tractor supply you can buy them by the pound and its cheaper than by the little boxes from other hardware stores.
