Yurts For Standing Rock

Apparently yurts are becoming quite popular at the Standing Rock protest. I have heard from a couple of different manufacturers on how they are all working to supply them all with yurts for the coming winter.

I know we have a lot of people here trying to sell their yurts in the Classifieds section. You may want to post what you have for sale in this thread to. I think this would be a good thread to get sellers in touch with buyers from the event.

Also, feel free to chime in about the event in general. Do keep in mind that we have a diverse membership here at Yurt Forum so not everyone will agree with the Standing Rock issues. We however need to be respectful and tolerant of all opinions here. If possible, please keep the politics to a minimum in this thread.

Also, if anyone wishes to help coordinate in transportation or other such ways to facilitate sheltering people for this winter, please post away!

I am tagging all of the yurt manufacturers to this thread and if they have their tag notifications configured, they should receive a notice.
 
Rod, it's even worse. I didn't even realize you were a manufacturer lol. I am fixing that now and will send you a PM.
 
We should all be grateful to these folks for braving the harsh elements of N. Dakota to stand up for all of our rights to clean water.

We are headed out the day after Thanksgiving with my 24' workshop yurt, which is equipped with a wind turbine and solar panels. We will be offering free yurt building workshops, a free sewing shop with 2 machines, a cell charging station, along with donated yurts.

Over the past 2 weeks I have received dozens of calls from people concerned about the violence against these protectors and tribal elders. An unbelievable outpouring of love, support, and solidarity.

I'm looking for 7 people who are interested in learning yurt building to donate $500 each to participate in a yurt building workshop near Montpelier, Vermont July 17-12st 2017. I will use that money to donate a yurt to Standing rock right now when it is most needed.

These people need the power of our prayers most of all.
 
Thanks Jeff for this thread and Steve for the note! We did not donate yurts (it was a rumour) but sold our stock at pretty much cost. Laurel Nest yurts and Two Sisters yurts were also on site helping amazing people and a cause worth everyone's attention. What is happening there is incredible.
If you have a used yurt you want to sell or donate, please state size, price, options (stove) location and contacts so that people from Standing Rock can contact you directly.
If you're a manufacturer, make sure to announce yourself at main camp council when you get there.

Hi, nomad shelter alaskan yurts is working to put up go fund me and indiegogo sites to accept tax deductable donations toward building 16 ft dia insulated yurts with crates that fold out to become floors as donations to the standing rock water protectors. We are ready tooled and able to send one every two to three days to standing rock to give shelter to those who want it. We need people who need tax write offs to donate to our partnering non profit to get a river of housing flowing their way! Sites to follow . Contact me 907 299 3342 if you can help fund this effort . super! NomadShelters. Let your efforts be known by the camp council (wwww.ocetisakowincamp.org). There are so many gofunds going on, they might be able to order directly from you.
