Restoring a yurt out of storage

We bought a 20-ft yurt from PY in 2006. Due to changes in our life, we had to dismantle it and store it in 2009. We have also moved three times since. Currently, the yurt is disassembled in a shed on our new property. We are thinking about erecting it on our land or donating it. Either way, we will need to repair some damage, and therefore I am asking advice.

1) When dismantling the yurt, the center ring cracked. Two of the holes for inserting rafter are broken and two are weakened. Can this be repaired, or would it be structurally unsound, and it needs to be replaced with a new ring?

2) When in storage, something chewed a hole in the roof fabric. One hole, a few inches in diameter. I was reading the thread about holes, and have fabric I could use to patch the hole, but am unclear regarding the procedure or what the recommended "H-66" stuff is.

Any advice is appreciated!

Here is a link to that glue:

I would patch it similar to a tire patch. Cut out a piece larger than the hole and coat it with the glue. Apply to the area and let cure the recommended time. Trim off the excess. The bags used to hold the roof cover work great for patching material.

Is there any way you can post a picture of the ring? It is pretty hard to make a guess on it without seeing it.

I responded to your message before reading this this thread, so I didn't know about the top cover damage. HH-66 is indeed your best bet for making the repair. We offer it in 8 oz. cans and the instructions are on the label, but
we do include detailed instructions for making the repair.
