Pacific vs Rainier

Hello All,

total yurt newbie here, although dreaming of one for a long time.

We are looking to buy a 24" yurt to use as a 'bunk house' on property that we currently own. It will be off-grid w/no services as it will be for teenagers sleeping & hanging out & such.

We've been planning on going with pacific b/c we've heard about them for years, camped in them at campgrounds & my mil owned one. But we are in the Seattle area (although land is east of mountains) and I just realized that Rainier is in Seattle and offer a similarly nice product. Is there any reason that we should start looking at Rainier? Would having the manufacturer close by help in any way in terms of customer service? or problems?

anything else I should be considering?

Thanks for any & all advice, I'm going to be digging through the forum for more tips & tricks as we go along.

I have heard nothing but good things about them, but I have never seen their product. You certainly stand to save money on shipping that's for sure.

Washington Sales Tax will likely be as much or more than the shipping cost from Oregon, so I would not use that as a determining factor. If you need some referrals please feel free to contact our sales representatives.

Have you looked at Shelter Designs Yurts? I am working with them right now purchasing a 30' to build on my prop in the spring. Montana does not have sales tax and SD has been excellent with customer service and information.

I also dig their specs, features and overall badass local Montana vibe:)

I would be happy to give you a tour of the Rainier Facility and Yurt showroom. I have dozens of references that I could share with you as well.

I don't know much about Pacific buy I did but a yurt from Rainier. They had excellent customer service and were always available. I would recommend them to anyone.
