Murphy bed

Anyone tried putting a Murphy bed in their yurt? Have seen photos of it done. I wonder how they secured it? To the floor maybe? Obviously not to the lattice...maybe if it was against a partition wall? I love the idea for saving space, but worry about it being a safety hazard, I've got a toddler running around my yurt.
 
I would imagine you would erect studs from the rafters to the floor like many have with snow/wind kits. Then build off of those.
 
Most of the time Murphy beds are indeed mounted onto the rafter supports (studs) or onto an interior partition wall. If you plan to use a bed that folds vertically where the head or foot of the bed folds upward it might not fit below the rafters. You might consider a horizontal mount bed instead. Here is a horizontal-mount Murphy bed that is mounted directly to the lattice wall. The bed cabinet and mounting points were customized for this purpose.

@ pacific yurts, those are great pictures (I kept scrolling)! I hadn't seen the idea to put studs horizontally at the tops of the wind load studs...going to use that trick to keep mind from shifting at the top every time the yurt gets wind-rattled.

For all, in general I would avoid connecting anything heavy or structural to the wind load studs or rafters. The yurt walls WILL move around from wind and thermal cycling and if the walls move the rafters move.

The studs in mine are attached by brackets to the rafters and to the platform. I mount cabinets and other such things to them with no problem. You couldn't move them if you tried. Of course, we have the 2X6 rafters for snow.
 
I have the same and it heavy wind the tops of the studs visibly sway. BUT I don't have blocking between the studs at the top. Curious to see what difference that makes
