Loft or partitions in 24 foot yurt

I'm in the process of building a 24' Colorado Yurt and thinking about interior spaces. Specifically, I'm wondering if anyone has built either partition walls and/or a loft in a 24 footer? Colorado Yurts has a 7' 2" sidewall standard for all sizes, so it seems like there'd be good height at the edges to work with, but a little worried that any kind of partition in a 24' will start making it feel too small. Thoughts? Experience?

Personally I like the open space. I would suggest you try it open first and then if you want to try a loft, just start separating spacing with sheets or tarps so you can get an idea of how it would change the feel.

Space is limited in a yurt. Even narrow things like walls and columns take up precious space.
 
I tend to agree with your comment, and like the idea of putting up some kind of temporary dividers up to try it out.



Has anyone done partitions in a 24 footer and have any feedback?
 
No comment about partition in 24' yurt from ecperience. Maybe try hanging a tarp from rafters to see how you like it? As for dividing up a smaller space, in the 1970s I lived in a 20x20 (400 sq ft) apt which had a lr/kit and bed/bath, each 10x20 in size. I was happy with that arrangement, but back then I was happy just to have a roof over my head and hot running water. Hmm.... some things never change. lol Good luck
 
If you are ok building the walls after you get all your furniture ect in then put everything in and see how you like it open and then play with different wall arrangement as already posted.
 
Each Yurt is personal to the person who owns it, so asking us how it would look or what we think, we will tell you how are yurt looks but I have two 24 yurt in two trees looks like fiary fort one I put a loft in it you just have to think about the beam and hitting your head one I partation both I like and so does my famely who made the yurt there.
