Land Clearing Costs

(and that guy said that was the HIGH end of what the bill would be). Not very likely or the number wouldn't have been there to begin with. Ask them up front what they charge an hour. Anything wishy washy blah blah blah if this blah blah blah if that, find someone else.

Update: So the subcontractor I selected did a great job over 3 days with his crew. He has been SUPER helpful with putting me in contact with other subs in the area - and just an all around nice guy. Turns out I had waay more trees in the wooden yurt footprint and the fabric yurt footprint - a total of 28 came down. He charged me $4450.

I do still have to remove the tree stumps - I'm going to try and do that myself after looking at a few videos.

That looks like it was a reasonable price. Keep that guys card in the rolodex. ;)

Okay the time has come to manually remove the footprint tree stumps. I have a reciprocating saw, 27 inch poppers and a pointed shovel - anything else I need? I think I have 6 stumps (have been busy putting up a shed to hold tools in there - haven't walked the footprint in awhile).

Hi,
I know you have spend some cash, but removing stumps is pretty overwhelming work, depending on size.. Generally we will cut out trees down , cut up for firewood, burn the brush, and hire a excavator to remove stumps.. I didn’t remove the stumps around or under my Yurt, just cut them near the ground and built Yurt over.. I did have stumps removed in my backyard ( home) had about a doz. 8”- 10” stumps the excavator took them out in about 2 hours, charged me $500.. But also needed to back fill the stump holes with gravel.. I see on You-tube where folks will put a barrel around the stump and burn them< might be a good option?

I see people doing it with burn barrels and leaf blowers on youtube. Depends on the size of the stumps (must be smaller than diameter of barrel).
