Is this a good wood-stove trick?

Or just a creatively bad idea?
I'm thinking about the concept of putting a woodstove under a loft in our yurt design. That way, if it were really cold we could curtain the loft area in for sleeping and not worry about heating the whole space. Assuming a good amount of head space, say 6 feet, this isn't dangerous, right? Is there something else I might be forgetting?

Well I know in most places, code doesn't allow for a combustion heater of any kind in a bedroom. (With the exception externally vented gas fireplaces that is). If you want my opinion, it sounds like you are asking for trouble. Keep in mind that heat rises so a loft may be a bit warmer than the floor area naturally.
