How to Get a Lumber Estimate for Interior Framing?

I have no idea how to go about getting an estimate for the lumber costs for the interior framing of my 30ft yurt with a full 2nd level loft. This was true even before the pandemic caused lumber to triple in price. So far I have tried emailing my floorplans to to different store (Lowes and a local area place) and.... crickets. What's the normal practice of obtaining estimates?

Hmm, that is a good question. I would suggest you go into Lowes in person and talk to someone there. Emailing them will probably not get a response.

Yes the cost of lumber has gone nuts over the past year. 2x4x8 that was 3.45 are now 6.50. 4x8 sheets of OSB that was 11.97 are now almost 30.00. Cost of lumber sucks right now

You can go on line and look for small lumber mill operation. Also, you can figure out qty of lumber, based on your drawings, and figure it out yourself. .

Another suggestion might be to stop at a smaller, local owned place. Most of the time these are run/operated by people who were in the trades and can probably give you a back of the napkin estimate.
