Getting Rid of Yurt Mold

I have yet to really have any kind of mold issue in my yurt, but I understand it is a common problem during damp weather conditions. The San Francisco Chronicle just did a story about a product that is supposedly getting a lot of buzz with yurt owners:

I have no idea if any of this is true, but if you have a story about this or other mold control in your yurt, feel free to reply!
 
We get 200+ inches of rain a year (yes, you read that right ;) and we don't get issues with mold IN the yurt. It's crucial to have the right upgrades to allow for proper ventilation. But we do get the scummy algae that grows on just about everything around here. Then we'll scrub it off once a year. It sometimes leaves behind a stain though, and you want to avoid bleach. I'll be interested to hear more about this!
 
I have been waiting for something like that to grow on the outside of my yurt, but it has been SO dry up here in the Adirondacks that just normal greenery is having a hard time. We would take a few inches of that rain off your hands right now lol!

200 INCHES! That is insane! :eek:
 
I wish we could share. We were robbed of our dry season this year, so we're probably nearing a 300" landmark year here. Insane is right! On the up side, it's a great testament to how yurts can handle in the rain!
