New Woodstove For The Yurt

That's just the kind of thing I am meaning, if you have a slab its the way to go. Why I have gravitated to the hybrid wood yurt, on a slab, insulated walls and roof, with masonry stove. Dome/tono with bagaan, very definitely a yurt. Somewhere I have a picture of one such in Mongolia, near the northern border almost mid country. Forest area.

It wont go up in an afternoon but it will laugh at blizzards. I am looking at a 25' to 27' dia. With a smaller ~ 15' shop on the NW side.

Good morning Sir,

We got our yurt up! It is AWESOME and it went together very very well. Just wondering how you like the wood stove that you have links for on this thread. We don’t want to get one that is undersized for our 30. I will have to load some pics of the construction, thanks for your reply in advance.

Do you have a picture of the exterior support system for the chimney? I am switching to a new wood stove with a high exit point in the sidewall so my old support system which uses two attachment points separated by 4' on the sidewall will not work.

thank you

Do you have a picture of the base of your chimney support post? (did not see on your blog). I am having to build a new support post and would rather not design from scratch. I am having trouble visualizing how a single post (even anchored in concrete) can be rigid enough to support the chimney. I actually did the single post technique once before but it was kind of wobbly (it is extremely windy here). I almost feel like I need some guy wires...

thank you.
