It is, really didn't think it would work since coverage is terrible in the area. I could get 1 bar about 100 yards from the yurt but nothing at the yurt at ground level.
Decided to roll the dice and give it a try. After a whole bunch of research on equipment and tower location I bought the equipment and it actually worked. Had to get it up in the air higher than I expected but we can now get 3 bars and data. Makes the wife happy to have the phone if the kids need to get a hold of us or we have an emergency.
I think I have the same one, by Wilson. It did the same for me. I now get 4G at camp where I barely ever got a bar of signal before. I am working on getting it up that high too.
I ordered a 40' extendable mast. By the time you buy all the different size pipe and fittings it's cheaper to buy a Pre made. Easy to set up also.
I think I've got it at about 30' right now to get over the trees. The higher you get it the more wiggley it gets without running guy wires from the top.
Needing fresh snow! This 30' WMY was finished in Nov. of 2016. This pic is from last Monday (Jan 16th), the morning after our wood stove conditioning fires were completed. Happy stuff!
I think we used the same rationale as you on the color scheme -- fits in well with its surroundings...
Heading up tonight; new snowfall, low single-digit temp's. More snow over the weekend. Should be getting the X-C skis out for the first time in a while... Can't wait!
How'd y'all make out with the storm that just came thru?
We didn't get any of that snow this week, though we got hit with a little over 3 feet this last 3 weeks. Camp looked good when I was there. Not sure when I can get back. Battling the flu at the moment.
