Default Yurt Lattice Panels

I'm new here so forgive me if my question is redundant but it may take me some time to learn how to get around this place.

Has anyone ever used the 4' X 8' lattice panals sold at place like Home Depot for the sides of a yurt?

I'm going to tinker with some ideas in my back yard this summer and these seem simple and OK to me?

Thanks

Rickie

I am definitely not well experienced in building yurts, Im building my first right now. However, through this process of researching and building a yurt, I have thought of using that lattice. In fact, nearly everyone I speak with regarding my yurt, other than yurt-ers, ask why Im not using that lattice. I respond that it wouldn't be strong enough for my purposes.

While it may work, it isn't designed for load and I don't think it would flex into a circle very well. But why not try it? Its $25 for a 4x8 section, and you would need, I think, 4 sections for a 12' yurt.

Though, you could buy a basic table saw for $130, the wood needed to make enough khana for about $75, and then the hardware for probably $30. So $235 for a solid lattice wall, and you have the table saw for future projects.

Just my 2 cents.

I was thinking of Bamboo for the lattice work. I am new at this site, but am aware that Bamboo can be very strong in construction.

What about the plastic lattice panels? They'd be flexible enough although I wonder about how strong they would be.
