Default Interior walls & ceiling.

I am looking at options for finishing our interior walls & ceiling.

We have rigid foam

insulation

already installed, & our plan for preventing

moisture

issues is an ERV system. We are looking for a a material to finish & enclose the walls & ceiling.

My wife hates drywall, so that option is off the table for us. We were looking at tongue & groove pine, but I can't find anything online about whether it will be flexible enough to curve along the walls.

For the ceiling our plan was corkboard.

With the ERV system I'm hoping that the forced air change will prevent any mold issues, but I'm open to feedback on that. My big question is, will tongue & groove work or do we need to look at some other kind of walling option?

Hi Cato, I have pine tongue and groove in my yurt. But it doesn't curve and it is not flexible. My tongue and groove is 3/4"...so no give. I have mine installed horizontally in about 3' panels. But if you did them vertically I supposed you'd get more of a "curve".

1x t@g pine is a very poor choice for curved surfaces.

Steam bending will work on 1x that is square edged but there's a massive learning curve that is a total pita. I steam bent trim on two different jobs a few decades ago. Stain grade work. A MASSIVE pita it was too. The 'money' face was profiled. The trim warped twisted bowed split checked -everything nasty possible. Never-Ever-Again. My work normally didn't get puttied. That job did-big time. It totally sucked. I was not proud of it but I got it done. I said "No mo." And that really meant 'No mo."

I used bendable trim on curves after that fiasco. That stuff is extremely bendable and easy to install. It paints great. But if it goes with stained trim making it match takes a VERY GOOD painter to match it up. And the stuff is $$$$- very big money. Totally out of the question on a yurt. I know zip about finishing the walls and ceiling of yurts. Sorry but I can't help you with that. :/

how about 1/4" plywood...would be cheap and easy and very flexy...and you can paint it and trim out the seams, easy!
