    Stove is in

    Installed the wood/coal stove this weekend. Followed Jafo's install , worked out perfect . THANKS JAFO. I welded up a heavy support post and base. Base was staked with 24" steel spikes. It's solid. spent our first night in the yurt last night. Time to sell the travel trailer.

    She's up !!!!

    Battled rain storms and cold last weekend and this weekend but she's finally up. Still need to do a final tightening around the bottom but I'm going to wait for the material to relax a bit as it heats up during the day.

    Constuction started

    Halfway done with the platform panels. 16 pie shaped pieces. After they are all done will still need to insuate with polyisocyanate insulation.

    Opinions on a pellet stove for my yurt

    I've started pre building the platform for my Shelter Designs 20' yurt and I will be picking the yurt up the end of july. I keep going back and forth whether I want a wood stove or a pellet stove. Yurt will be at 9500 ' here in Utah and we will be using it on the weekends all 4 seasons...

    On its way

    Whoo hoo. Yurt is ordered. Went with a 20 Shelter Designs . Can't wait to get going, requested a July delivery date so I have time to get the platform done after the snow melts. :D
