Oh, and it takes a couple hours to set, and about a day to cure. Also, the area needs to be dry for best adherence.

I haven't done this, but my suggestion is to get a cartridge of 3M Silicone 2, and a small caulking gun, and either smear it over the damaged area or glue on a reinforcing patch. Walmart, Depot,...
