This is blowing my mind. I'm actually frustrated trying to figure this out. There's gotta be a logical explanation for the problem. If only I was there to look things over. Maybe I'd figure it out....

Damp yields decay and a return to the earth from which they orginated. Thats the cycle of life. The thinner the materials the less mass and faster they degrade. Skinny laths and organic cover degrade...

Wish I could give helpfull advice instead of comments. Yurt was likely developed in dry climate. I'm really at a loss to help. Sorry.

Wife and I lived in an apt in Jackson WY when it was sub zero for a month straight. -50 f Massive ice dam at the kitchen sliding door. Single glazed. We didn,t get mold but there were heated apts....

YITW I just read your long post about mold. That's too bad. Tents and other biodegradables just don't last in along term wet envirionment. Airing out and wood heat is the only way I know to get...
