My dad was in radio biz from the gitgo. He had a ham set up. dah-di dah-dit --dah- dah dit- dah. That was 55 years ago and I still remember CQ. lol

According to the AltE link, if you need more than 1000 watts, expect to spend 4-8K for your system.
Seems expensive, right? To put that number in perspective, I just had surgery done this week...
