One thing I do in my yurt in the winter is sleep with a knit cap on. Keeps you warmer than u think!

I think if you go through the roof ring, it will be the most cost effective. Just make sure you have 18" on either side of the yurt and you should be good. You can always go through the wall later...

I am going to concur with Bob on the placement of the stove. It is one thing to have it in the middle of a large yurt, but in a small one, it really cuts your space.

1. Do I need to use double/triple wall chimney pipe? It is quite expensive and I am trying to save wherever I can. From my research it seems that it is needed to enhance the draw from my stove.
