Hi Jafo,
That interesting. Is there a cable along the bottom perimeter? I wasn't planning on using poles along the wall to hold up the roof but I like that idea.

Thanks for the replies. I finally got the yurt handbook and its filled with great info. My son and I framed out a deck this weekend. Next we have to build a circular platform on top of the deck....

How much of a bend do you put in the pieces?

Whats the ratio to roof poles to lathe "notches"? Is there a ratio or does a 16' yurt just need a certain number of roof poles that are evenly spaced...

Can you explain what you are talking about a little better. Are you referring to a straight wall as a wall that is plumb and doesn't curve inwards along the middle?
