We have 2 18" Ranier yurts up in the Sierra's, one bought in 2000 and the second in ~2005. Both have held up very well, except for bears, just replaced the roofs on them since we are over 8,000'...

Re: floor insulation?

We used 4'x8' sheets of 2" thick rigid insullation, cut to fit between the floor joists, and fastend from below the yurt with 2.5" screws and large washers. No criter problems and it was installed...

I have used 1.5" EPS Foam board to insulate just as you have described, between the joists. We used long screws, with a large flat washer at the end to attach to the underside of the plywood floor. ...
