Re: Maintenance agreement w/county to remove snow?

Re: Moisture in the Yurt from Condensation

Re: How to deal with dampness

Just seeing this thread today and curious how you are doing. Definitely the wood stove will have helped, but what you describe as you location seems to be challenging: mids of the woods with not even...

Re: Traditional vs modern?

both have pros and cons. Speaking about the outer covers, modern yurts will often have completely waterproofed PVC covers that will have 10 or 15 years warranty, but wont breathe, so other source of...

Re: Platform ideas?

Straw bales seem to work very well. The cover on top (and the yurt!) will prevent your bales from rotting, as long as you have a good drainage around. The tires seem to me almost a bit overkill... ...

Re: lattice measurements?

Hi Daniel,

Send me an e-mail to [email protected] and I'll get Chuck to take a picture and measure the length of a 4-wall yurt. Mongolian gers have particular dimensions so that might help :-)...

Re: Assistance for Stanford students redesigning the Mongolian Ger?

Sain baina uu? It is an interesting concept. Although I don't think you will find much better and cost effective insulation for the gers than... the existing felts made in Mongolia. Felts do not only...
