I am still thinking the fabric expecially using on roof is a kind of PVC, isn't it?

Re: Yurt Cover
I'll toss in a side report about cover material. Mine is 100% cotton canvas, 17 oz., and treated for moisture resistance. Very heavy duty material. I live in a semi arid climate. However we had incredible rain here last May and June.

The cover has been on my yurt for two years and a few months. While the cover is still good in terms of fabric strength, it is literally covered in mildew spots. The repellent no longer beads up water. Water soaks through the roof cover and drips inside the yurt. A year ago it did not do that. So, that is my report on what I have found with all cotton canvas.

If the climate virtually never rained or snowed the canvas would possibly be in better shape. All I know is if I was living in the yurt I would have to either paint the cover or retreat it with water repellent. Just fwiw. Good luck.
