Default Pacific vs Ranier yurts

Hi,

I'm preparing to buy a 16 foot yurt for use in the CA Bay Area, which can get quite rainy, but not that cold or hot. I've heard that years ago there was a lot of difference between

Pacific yurts

and other manufacturers with Pacific being far superior. Is that still true? I'm looking to buy a yurt that will last the longest and hold up well without a lot of maintence.

I'd love to hear from owners of yurts, especially Ranier and Pacific ones.

Thanks,
Susala

I can't speak for Ranier, but all I have heard is good. I have a 30 foot Pacific yurt for the last few years and it has worked out fine. They have great customer service and a great product. The only maintenance for us is about 20 minutes of washing the outside roof/walls about once a year.

We have 2 18" Ranier yurts up in the Sierra's, one bought in 2000 and the second in ~2005. Both have held up very well, except for bears, just replaced the roofs on them since we are over 8,000' elevation. Their customer service, with Dana, has been great. Some of the panels have been replaced over the years and the fabric being used now is superior.
