Tell me more about your financing requirements. Do you own the land? How is your credit? How much do you need?

Hi; my husband/partner and I are interested in the "round house" experience. But we're thinking of two (one for each) on one piece of property.

What sort of land is best to look for? I'm interested in Prescott, AZ. Does you contact the city government first, or go to a realtor and they can direct me best?

Thanks.

I would contact a realtor for land, government for permitting. Permitting varies from town to town, county to county.

Jafco -- thanks very much for the information. I was thinking along the same lines.
It would be great if it was one-stop shopping, but it's more than that.
All my best...bb

Barb,

The timing is pretty interesting on your post. Prescott is my hometown and I'll be there for the entire month of September. I've been designing, building, drafting, permitting, and implementing yurt homes for a decade now with my business,

Yurts of Hawaii

. If you'd like to meet up or have a phone discussion, let me know. Aloha!

Aloha, Melissa! I don't know if I can make it in Sept; I'm already pretty booked up with clients of my own; AND I'm going a sales meeting next week. But I'd love to talk with you. We can wait until you are in closer proximity. I have a friend in HI and it's always difficult. Should we exchange phone numbers?

Hello Everyone, I am a sort of newbie looking for information on the wooden yurts. Stumbled upon this site while searching google. I will be soon in Oregon and not sure what i will be doing housing wise. The Smiling Yurts have always interested me. I am wondering if anyone has actually invested in the wooden yurts and if so, did the financial numbers come in close to what you expected. Any ifo. on the subject would be appreciated. p.s. I am a dreamer.....

Hi, I noticed this original thread was written 4 years ago, in 2013. Since then, has anyone had any luck/new leads with financing? Located in Maine and hoping to go with a USDA loan on everything (land + yurt). Just looking for a bit of a leg up. Thanks!
