WOW! It worked! Those on the lush and green east coast will see empty desert. Those from the west will see possibilities. Add a good well and a solar well pump and it will be green and lush. The photo looks north by north west. The distant mountains are the southern side of Zion's Nat'l Pk. To the east is Lake Powell. The south slopes away slowly into the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Good shopping is 35 miles away in St George and even better shopping in Las Vegas 2 hours away.

I wonder how far you have to drill to get water?

That's not too bad then.. I was thinking because of the desert, it would be like 200-300 feet. I will say this though, at my yurt, you can reach water with a shovel lol.. In the spring about 1 foot down, now, maybe 10 feet.

In this part of the world, it is not location, location, location but water, water, water. I already have a well master on the job and I am waiting in line for his time and effort.

I found Laurelnest Yurts on the net and have been using their specs and info to build the yurt. I purchased their book on "How To." It has been a great support. I sew well so that is not an issue. The woodworking has been an eye opener. It as been much easier than I thought but it has taken alot longer than I thought. iI have been using Craigs list for lots of stuff. It has made this elegant dwelling much more affordable.

I have been looking at the floor plans on

Pacific Yurts

site for 30 fters and have thought about running a kitchen the center about 10 or 12ft from the wall. Something simple from Ikea with a propane stove and a frig/freezer. Purhaps even a dishwasher. mmmmmm

If I was living in mine full time, I would definitely think about at least one framed out room inside, but as a camp, I love the open floor plan.

Pacific Yurts

has a lot of images in their gallery where people have made lofts, etc.. I even saw a few where people put the yurt on the top story of an otherwise framed out structure.

I think you double posted there, I will delete the copy for ya.
