EDITED: I Just lowered the price 10k. I realize this requires time and effort to dismantle. 35k for a 50k yurt (and no sales tax or shipping). I will include the platform (cost me $16k and I have receipts) IF you want it for additional $5k. I will also throw in 2k of brands new LVP light oak flooring for this yurt for FREE. You wont get a practically new yurt of this quality anywhere near this price. MOVING and need to sell. If you have any basic construction skills or have someone you know who does, this would be a great opportunity to save half the cost it would be to buy new and a new platform. Price it and see. BIG SKY 35’ yurt by SHELTER DESIGNS. Almost 1000 sq ft (962). Lots of upgrades for added climate comfort and wind/snow protection. Nice modern color palette with Ivory Walls and Dark Gray Ceiling and Splash Band.

GENERAL INFO.

962 square feet. Purchased a year ago (last March). Yurt has only been raised since late September 2022. Although this thing is beefed up, don\’t be intimidated by it\’s size. It is fairly easy to transport. It was initially transported to storage after purchase for 7 months with a standard Ford 1/2 ton truck and flatbed trailer (have pics). This took 4 adults 45 mins. to unload and put into storage. Then yurt materials were transported up to property with a Uhaul truck. Took approximately 5 people to attach roof, dome and walls (the roof beams are larger than most yurts due to the upgrade protection package and are quite heavy… so you need about 5 people for that task). Yurt was erected over the course of 2 weekends (one for framing and other for fabric and adjustments)

UPGRADED WINDOWS ($6000)

Fully cased and trimmed thermal pane glass windows. Provides a much nicer looking and better insulated yurt and more security than fabric zippered windows. Easier to open and close than zippered fabric. Who wants to have to open and close fabric windows from the outside in all weather elements. Also more secure. Of all the yurt people I\\\\\\\’ve talked to, window upgrades and better insulation were the most desired upgrades owners wished they had invested in when purchasing their yurt.

Snow and wind kit
The snow and wind kit consist of upright supports under each roof rafter, and a cable blocking system in the rafters. The upright supports are attached to the rafters, lattice and floor. These structural components increases the yurt’s ability to withstand extreme load conditions. (2×4 snow legs)

Perimeter Blocking
Perimeter blocking is a horizontal block line of 2×4 blocks that are installed at the top of the wall between the snow and wind legs. This simple structural upgrade provides a substantial boost to the snow and wind loading capabilities of your yurt.

Bottom splash band
Spruce up the look of your yurt while adding extra protection from splashing water and snow accumulation! We make the bottom 18” of your wall with 15-year DuroLast fabric, adding an attractive look and practical protection from the elements.

Bottom hook and loop attachment
Every Shelter Designs yurt wall comes with grommets spaced every foot around the bottom of the exterior wall to securely anchor the fabric to the floor frame. Take the next step to fully seal the bottom of your wall and keep out stray drafts and those creepy crawlies! This SD exclusive feature connects the wall to the floor frame with 2? hook and loop around the entire bottom perimeter, providing the ultimate seal from the elements.
