-Custom loft: $2500 The wood that was used to build it came from years of collecting from 1800s building demos and my husband has quite a bit of love and work put into it. I will say it was a game changer for us. It is easily the only walk in closet I’ll ever have and sleeping in it felt like a dream. You look right up into the dome and the sky. My husband built it so you can have some semblance of privacy as the headboard occludes any visual from the door/entrance. It accommodates a queen mattress and has a ladder on either side. If you didn’t want to purchase it, you are more than welcome to look at our design and it could easily be re-created from new lumber.
**2 adults lived in this yurt as our full-time home for 3 years and found it to be cozy and functional in all four Ohio seasons. We set up the yurt ourselves (just 2 people), although we have some background in building and design. We used a composting toilet and propane-heated shower and used battery powered lights. We added a custom built loft for added function and space. The yurt is currently still standing if prospective serious buyers would like to look at it set up. Prices are negotiable, as are conversations about disassembly, etc. We welcome all questions and inquiries.
