Default Looking for Micro Wind Turbine - American Made

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm looking for a small wind turbine. Around 400-1000 Watts

Preferably American made and no larger than a 12" blade. I have a customer interested in buying and thought some of you folks might know somebody who makes them. The size they use for yachts is perfect for what I need.

I can't use chinese product or anything of cheap quality. I met a guy who makes them out in California but I can't seem to find his phone number or anything about him online.

Would much appreciatte any information or leads you might have.

Thanks

-Steve

Default Perfect.

I'm going to call and order this one tommorow:

500 Watt Low Wind Wind Scorpion 12 Volt Noncog PMA 6 Blade Turbine Generator | eBay

I'm more comfortable with straight 12 Volt so I don't need series wiring on the 12V deep cycle marine batteries,. The simpler the better.

We're attaching this to the top of the yurt roof for power. I have a metal bracket in the center that allows me to weld the wind turbine mount to it! I've been excited to get an actual turbine. Up to this point, I've only used the non-power generating wind mill.

Thanks Again Jeff. Knocked it out of the park again, as this company is based in Illinios! I believe they are making these in the Chicago area.

-G'day

Let me know how this works out for you. I am thinking of getting one too, and for that price, you really cannot go wrong.

Have not placed the order yet.... Don't have time to play around with setting it up right yet. Will let you know when I get it up and spinning.

Any update on the wind turbine and its power output? Interested in how well it works.

Thanks!

No news here

I have not had anyone whose yurt is in a windy spot buy the roof mounted wind turbine yet. My prototype is great and has put out some power during storms. However, I am living out in the woods and the canopy blocks most any winds that come through.
