Default ductless heat pumps

Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie here. Just got yurt up, and figuring out stuff like heating/cooling and lighting. I'll ask my lighting question in a separate thread to keep subjects clear.

Okay, so after weeks and weeks of research, I'm thinking of putting in a ductless heat pump for heating and cooling (I'm in the Pacific Northwest, so it's cold in the winter and then we get about 6 weeks of actual hot in the summer).

What BTU (or tonnage) would you recommend for a 24 foot yurt? It's a Pacific Yurts yurt with the extra insulation liner, but still doesn't feel like a very insulated critter to me so I'm thinking that the normal square footage recommendations will not suffice.

I'd love to hear from others who have ductless heat pumps. Do you like them? The cost of these units is super daunting so hearing that others love them, or being steered away before I commit, would be appreciated.

Not exactly on target, but here is another idea for your construction, if you aren't already past the platform point.

Good luck, what ever you end up doing,

As a rule of thumb, I always recommend going at least double the square foot recommendation of a heater.
